How the shidduch process works
1. A suggestion is made
Traditionally a shadchan (matchmaker), family member, or friend suggests two people who share values, background, and life goals. In the app, suggestions are drawn from members whose hashkafa, city, and stage of life line up with yours.
2. Research and references
Both sides look into the suggestion, speaking with references who can honestly describe character, family, and priorities. Profiles here are written by real members, so you start from their own words rather than hearsay.
3. Both sides say yes
A shidduch only moves forward when both people agree — nobody is put on the spot. That is why matching here is mutual: an introduction opens only after both members have said yes.
4. The first meeting
The first date is intentional and low-pressure, focused on whether you can build a bayis together. Afterwards each side gives an honest answer, and the process continues or ends respectfully.
